Hi, I’m Jessea.

My journey as a yoga teacher began over 10 years ago, rooted in a deep personal passion that evolved from a place of profound need. I turned to yoga as a way to heal from a long struggle with depression, seeking both physical and emotional relief. At the time, I was searching for something to help me find balance and peace in my life, and yoga became my anchor. I committed to a daily practice, dedicating an hour each day to connecting with my body, mind, and spirit. This consistent practice didn’t just help me manage my depression; it fundamentally transformed my life. Through yoga, I found a new sense of strength, clarity, and resilience that has carried me through many challenges.

This led me to pursue my certification as a yoga instructor. I am certified in trauma-informed and social justice-informed yoga through Empowered Yoga with Jamie Hanson. This training has been invaluable in helping me understand how deeply our personal histories and life experiences shape our relationship to the body, and how yoga can be a powerful tool for healing and empowerment. I’ve also completed my prenatal yoga training through Ma Yoga, founded by Jessica Jennings, which has further enriched my teaching and allowed me to support women during one of the most transformative times in their lives.

With over a decade of personal experience and professional training, I strive to offer a practice that is not only physically enriching but also emotionally healing and socially conscious. My approach to teaching is informed by my own lived experiences, as well as a deep understanding of the power of yoga to nurture the mind, body, and spirit. Whether I’m guiding someone through trauma recovery or helping a mother-to-be navigate the changes in her body, I am committed to creating a space where every individual feels seen, safe, and empowered.

My Approach

In my yoga classes, I draw deep inspiration from nature, allowing its rhythms and balance to guide my approach to teaching. I believe in the power of creating a nurturing and safe space where every student can feel fully supported as they explore their practice. My goal is for each individual to connect with their body in a meaningful way, giving them the opportunity to feel each movement, each stretch, and each breath. I place a strong emphasis on making sure that my students are comfortable in each pose, offering modifications when necessary and encouraging them to listen to their bodies. Yoga isn’t just about physical flexibility—it’s about fostering flexibility in the mind and soul as well. Through careful attention and guidance, I aim to help students build strength, not only in their muscles but also in their mental resilience and emotional clarity. I want each student to leave class feeling more grounded, empowered, and balanced, with a greater understanding of how to integrate the benefits of yoga into all aspects of their lives.
